I have exciting news…..
I launched a Youtube channel!

This project has been a long time coming, and I am so excited to finally see it start to come together. The goal for my Youtube channel is to provide a consistent, reliable, and helpful handwriting resource for students, teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and more.

Over the course of the next few months, I will be launching a variety of video series to guide students of all ages & skill levels through different components of handwriting. The very first video series is called “Rainbow Letters”. Through this video series, children will follow along with me as we practice capital letters, lowercase letters, & numbers in a large scale format - creating a beautiful rainbow letter as we go.

The Rainbow Letters series is a perfect starting point for beginning writers as they prepare to enter Pre-K & Kindergarten, and is a great pre-cursor to handwriting workbooks or worksheets. For young learners, hands-on learning, such as this Rainbow Letter activity, is more effective than basic workbook activities for a few reasons.

First, young learners benefit from motor learning. Completing handwriting exercises in a large scale format utilizes a wider range of a child’s “big muscles” which helps with overall retention of what they are practicing.

Second, this activity uses repetition. Throughout these videos, children will trace with their finger & crayon multiple times, and will hear the same concrete prompts as they go. Consistent repetition is a key component in building effective handwriting habits.
